18 yo hogshead distilled at Glen Grant        £4200

Single malt whisky, distilled at Glen Grant Distillery on 13th October 1993.

The casks would originally have held around 250 bulk litres at a strength of 63.5%.  Details are shown in the table below. The casks were re-gauged on the 22nd March 2011 and the figures for each cask is shown in the table.

113 litres of alcohol will yield approximately 293 70cl bottles at 55% or 351 70cl bottles at 46%.  The cost of the alcohol per bottle is therefore £14.33 at 55% and £11.97 at 46%.

Duty & VAT do not have to be paid until the whisky is removed from the Duty Free Warehouse.

I have now provided an editable Excel spreadsheet which calculate the total cost including Duty in various countries.
